I needed to get a notice to state what I had done from the company back than and was running into adversity. I was so frustrated trying to get it done and no one could help me with this in any way. I was given a phone number as a last result to use. I called and no answer I hung up the call. A second later I got a call from Renken and after I explained the issue it was resolved immediately. I was so impressed with the kindness and willingness to help me I had to say something so this is my story. I really appreciate the help and assistance. From the very first interaction with Mike our salesman, to Derek the project manager, to the schedulers and speaking with the owner, Dan, everyone was friendly, helpful and professional. None of that would have made a difference without ERNIE. He did our demo and installation. He explained every step, troubleshot and executed our shower beautifully.  Verified  My parents called upon Renken Remodeling to completely redo one of the showers in their home to accommodate the accessibility needs of my mother, who had suffered a stroke. The team designed a beautiful and functional shower stall.Our family found afterwards that the team had inadvertently forgotten to reconnect a pipe on the wall adjacent to the shower, which led to some flooding.After an initial conversation with Renken Renovations to report this problem, I did experience some initial lack of follow up.  I reached out once more in an attempt to schedule a visit to remedy the problem, and was contacted immediately by Dan.Dan listened patiently as I described the problem and the lack of communication from Renken. He then pledged to perform a follow up visit personally in order to rectify the situation.Dan was true to his word, responded to my parent's home the very next day, completed all necessary repairs, and even texted videos and photos of his repair work.  On top of that, he and his team installed a handlebar free of charge.I came from this experience with a strong appreciation for Renken's commitment to performing high quality work, and for their strong customer service ethic.  Verified  The reviews looked pretty good.  So did the BBB rating, generally.  However, this company has mastered the hard sell, and the lack of fee transparency.  We received the attached proposal for $49,331.89.  And we were told the pricing was only good that day, but they'd give us till Wednesday (5 days later).  We asked for detail on the costs for the items in the proposal and were told no, they don't provide that.   Renken was the second of three firms we met with.  Firm #1 provided a breakdown and Firm #3 who we met with today, said they would do so.   Also, their payment structure gives them 2/3 of the total fee by the time they do measurements?  Good grief.  Choose another firm!  ***UPDATE***  Imagine my surprise when I got a call today from Brent Renkin who called to literally berate me for using this platform to give a one-star review.  He told me one star reviews hurt businesses.  He questioned how I could give such a review.  The only point of clarification that he offered was that their pre-discounted rate is good for a year, but the discounts are only in place for five days "because of fluctuations in costs."  He did confirm they don't break down their pricing in any way, including labor versus materials; said that's their process.  As he continued pressing me about my review toward the end of the call, he talked over me so much that I ended the call to stop the tirade I was being subject to. A previous worker had not been entirely meticulous in the installation of bathroom handrails and rebuilding bathroom doors to accommodate a walker, so we had Renken come again. We were told that the previous person was no longer with the company, and the details were redone to the company’s very high standards.  Verified  There were many ups and downs and it took multiple trips to resolve a leakThere were miscommunications between ownership and the customer. But eventually got it resolved. We're very happy with our bathroom now and I give them credit they came out each time to try to resolve the issue. They answered a ton of questions we had. As we were going through the demo and then the remodel, each member of the team was courteous and respectful. They consistently worked with me when I decided to make changes to the plan. Kisha from Sales was so nice and happy. The Design team, Amber, Dan and Brent were always attentive to our questions and changes. The demo was seamless. They paid very close attention making sure the rest of the house was not interrupted. The entire team (Brent, Dan, Amber, Roberto) were a joy to work with and very responsive throughout our project. Our original master bathroom had an odd layout and quirky features, but Brent and Dan provided a solution that met our needs and was within our budget. Roberto and the installation team completed the install in 2.5 days, and we were extremely happy with the results. They did quality work and just as important, they covered up our floors and furniture to avoid dust and debris. I appreciated how thorough and transparent they were in regards to pricing and timeline of the whole project. Not the cheapest of the contractors I got quotes from but their labor and materials came with warranty and 1 day installation was worth the cost. My wife was pleased with the selection of color and pattern. Mahadi did a top notch job with little dust and cleaned up as he went along. He replaced all of the affected green board which had mold or potential of mold. He also replaced a stud which was questionable. We are really pleased. Dan did a follow-up on a check of the shower and made an adjustment for us. Amber handles the scheduling and Ebony does customers service. Both are super to work with. Quality and value.
